The Vaporfly Effect

Abstract

Nike claims that their shoes, the Nike Vaporfly 4%'s, will make you 4% faster in your next marathon. This claim is evaluated by way of econometric analysis of large scale, publicly sourced data. This study seeks to prove whether or not Nike's claim is valid, and assess the implications of such technology in both competitive and amateur running.
